When to Call a Doula
Halcyon typically accepts clients who have received a terminal diagnosis or have a chronic or life limiting illness. You may be receiving curative treatment or palliative care when we begin working with you.
We do not require you to have a prognosis of six months or less nor do we require certification into our program.
Our philosophy maintains that your end-of-life care begins when you are ready.
Choosing a Doula
The final journey of your life is as important as each phase through which you've already lived. But it can be confusing, chaotic, even frightening to navigate. You can expect to move through denial, anger bargaining, and depression, or some semblance of these stages of mind, in no particular order. This is key to processing and accepting the reality of your situation.*
